Pre-Employment Training:
1. Power to Arrest – 4 hours
- Overview of legal aspects, techniques, and company requirements related to arrest.
- Topics include escalation/de-escalation techniques, restraint techniques, and trespass laws.
2. Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) & Terrorism Awareness – 4 hours
- Recognizing precursor activities to a terrorist event and reacting appropriately.
- Training on identifying and reporting suspicious behavior and remaining safe during emergencies.
Within 30 Days of Employment:
1. Public Relations (Community & Customer) – 4 hours
- Training on gender & racial harassment, verbal skills, crisis intervention, and ethics.
- Focus on professionalism, appearance, and proper conduct.
2. Observation & Documentation – 4 hours
- Instruction on report writing, observation techniques, and asking appropriate questions.
- Emphasis on identifying suspicious activity and documenting incidents accurately.
3. Communication and its Significance – 4 hours
- Internal and external communication protocols, including radio procedures and technology use.
- Interaction with emergency responders, medical personnel, and law enforcement.
4. Liability / Legal Aspects – 4 hours
- Understanding personal, contractor, and employer liabilities.
- Compliance with BSIS regulations, role of a security guard, and ethical conduct.
Within 6 Months of Employment:
1. Post Orders & Assignments – 4 hours
- Site-specific training on equipment, monitoring, and emergency response procedures.
- Understanding of employer policies, including use of force policy and lost/found articles procedures.
2. Evacuation Procedures – 2 hours
- Emergency procedures related to life/safety, evacuation routes, and power outage scenarios.
Officer Safety – 4 hours
- Threat assessment, safety awareness, and handling environmental hazards.
- Training on bloodborne pathogens and personal security measures.
3. Arrests, Search & Seizure – 4 hours
- Advanced training on legal aspects, loss prevention, and use of force regulations.
- Understanding of constitutional rights impacting guard responsibilities.
Annual Refreshment Courses:
- First Aid / CPR – 4 hours
- Handling Difficult People – 4 hours
- Work Place Violence – 4 hours
- Driver Safety – 4 hours
